Islamabad National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Executive
Director Captain (r) Tariq Masud has directed all regional directors at Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta to complete tracer study of NAVTTC trainees by May 31.
Three main points are required in tracer study: How many trained youth are doing self-business, how many have got employment and in which local industry and how many have gone abroad for employment. He gave task to all regional directors of NAVTTC during a briefing here on Tuesday.
Earlier, NAVTTC Regional Director (Islamabad) Hussain Mirza Mughal gave briefing to the NAVTTC executive director. He said that the Islamabad Regional Office was established on April 14, 2006. The regional office’s vision is provision of employable skills to marginalised sections of society at their doorsteps, mission is provision of conducive environment where unemployed youth can acquire skills and goal is imparting competency-based and demand-driven training.
He said that the NAVTTC has approved provincial and regional quota for selection of trainees — 25% for Balochistan jobless youth, 10% for Gilgit-Baltistan, 5% for AJK, 18% for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 6% for Fata, 8% for Sindh Rural, 5% for Sindh Urban, 6% for Punjab North, 15% for Punjab South and 2% for Islamabad.
The regional office has so far got trained 28,518 jobless male and female youth through 38 projects, six projects are ongoing while three are going to be started in near future.
