Extremist trend in Muslim world no fault of others grip of the Saudi-inspired rigid form of Islam

Karachi The wave of religious fanaticism is not unique to Pakistan. The whole “Muslim world” is in the grip of the Saudi-inspired rigid form of Islam that is spreading like wildfire.


And as research has shown, such an ideology is bound to impede growth and curb fundamental human rights in the societies it infects. So why is the whole of Muslim world, including Turkey, going in that direction? And how do we counter the trend?


These are not easy questions to answer. But when a globally renowned historian and an equally astute political scientist, who happen to be husband and wife, sit and contemplate over these questions, there is a lot of food for thought for the audience to take back home.
