Karachi German Deputy Consul General Hans Juergen Paschke on Friday donated information technology equipment and electronic gear worth approximately $99,000 to the Sindh police.
An official handover ceremony was held at the Central Police Office, where Inspector General of Police Shahid Nadeem Baloch received the equipment.
The equipment will be installed at the Police Training College in Saeedabad, and officials expressed the hope that it would prove beneficial in respect of enhancing computer and other professional skills of trainees.
The donation is part of the German government’s Capacity Development Support Project for the Sindh police, which is being managed by Gesellschaft Fuer International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The project is funded by the German Foreign Office and also includes various training and development workshops.
A statement revealed that the next donation will consist of furniture and fingerprint systems, worth around $1,00,000, for the training college. Moreover, modern investigation kits and forensic equipment tools, expected to cost around $1,20,000 will also be donated later this year.
