Rawalpindi “Fantastic visit to a fantastic school! Staff and pupils have a great attitude to education,” remarked Mr. John Brown from Bellahouston Academy, Scotland, while visiting Grammar School here on Friday in connection with British Council’s Connecting Classroom project, says a press release.

The Grammar School has the honour of achieving the first International School Award by the British Council in Pakistan in 2012.

Currently, three teachers, Mr. Kevin Carr, Ms. Patricia Mac Cormick (Holy Cross Primary School) and Mr. John Brown from Bellahouston Academy, Glasgow, Scotland, are visiting Pakistan to observe and interact with students and teachers of Grammar School.

On the first day, the visitors observed teaching and learning practices and interacted with students in classrooms. On the next day, the students of Grammar School proudly showcased project work on the theme ‘Magnificent Pakistan.’ The thematic strands covered landforms, agriculture, water, food, nutrition and human resource.

Pakistan’s strengths and challenges were explored and students suggested solutions reflecting, a high level of critical thinking, understanding and responsible attitudes. The visitors found the presentations, well researched, relevant and the role plays significant and meaningful. These projects can be a great resource of cultural exchange for collaborative curriculum for Global School Projects.

Mr. Kevin Carr’s concluding remark was, “Thank you for allowing me to visit your marvellous school. Just witnessed a superb display of knowledge from articulate and confident children. Congratulations, to all students and staff!!” Patricia Mac Cormick added, “A very impressive display of knowledge. A very creative way to inform us of the history, geography and culture of your wonderful country.”
