Unlike the 80s, TV dramas no longer dominated by women writer Haseena Moin, Hum TV director Sultana Siddiqui, Sindhi poet and writer Attiya Dawood and actor Shakeel

Karachi It came as no surprise when Pakistani dramas were talked about, the panel was dominated by women.


For years – from the golden days of the PTV when primetime television showed Ankahi and Tanhaiyan to the more recent Humsafar – the silver screen has always been dominated by powerful women in lead roles.


At a session titled “Drama and the Small Screen” the ups and down of the Pakistani drama industry was talked about, which in recent years has seen its revival. The panel included renowned writer Haseena Moin, Hum TV director Sultana Siddiqui, Sindhi poet and writer Attiya Dawood and actor Shakeel. Sarmad Khoosat moderated the session.
