LAHORE THE Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) office-bearers have said that almost 40 percent teachers of the province are busy in the ongoing examinations being conducted by Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) which was badly affecting last days of the academic year.
In a press release issued on Sunday, PTU President Sajjad Akbar Kazmi and other office-bearers said ever increasing poverty was proving a big hurdle in achieving literacy rate target. They said poor families preferred sending their children to earn something, instead of sending them to school.
