2,500 hepatitis patients left at mercy of disease hepatitis B and C, registered with DHQ Hospital, Vehari,

VEHARI: As many as 2,500 patients of hepatitis B and C, registered with DHQ Hospital, Vehari, are deprived of treatment for the last six months due to non-provision of hepatitis injections, hampering their course of 72 injections.


The patients, belonging to various areas of the district, told Dawn that some of them had under gone half of the 72-injection course while others were at its different stages but they could not continue their treatment after end to supply of free injections. Most of the hepatitis patients, being poor, could not afford to buy injections.
