LAKKI MARWAT: Elders of Tajori have demanded the authorities of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Bannu to set up an examination centre for women in the sub-division for the upcoming intermediate examination.
The demand was made at a meeting with BISE Bannu Chairman Professor Ishfaq Ali Khan at his office on Tuesday. Elders including Dildar Khan, Saifur Rehman, Saleh Muhammad, Shahidullah and others informed the BISE chairman that women of the town and adjacent localities were faced with numerous problems while appearing in intermediate examination in other parts of the district. They said that over two hundred women had to travel to Lakki or Naurang by covering a distance of 65 km to 80 km to take intermediate examination there as the educational board had not equipped Tajori town with examination centre facility.
\”Many residents do not allow their women to appear in intermediate examination in other localities\”, they maintained. They said that sending women to Lakki and Naurang towns for appearing in intermediate examination was not affordable for parents.
