LAHORE THE Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has decided to install two dedicated incinerators for processing and management of hazardous hospital and construction waste in the city.
For the past several years, Lahorites are already facing serious health threats due to improper disposal and unchecked recycling of hazardous hospital waste. Reuse of hospital waste posed serious threat to the health of citizens besides workers and other people affiliated with the recycling industry in Lahore.
If infectious waste is not destroyed properly, it will cause many fatal diseases like Hepatitis and AIDS, doctors said adding the waste also causes skin, respiratory and eye diseases.
