PESHAWAR: In compliance with the Peshawar High Court (PHC) decision, the Khyber Medical University on Monday approved adjustment of 100 medical students in six different medical colleges of the province.
In a statement issued by the KMU, it was stated that in compliance with the PHC decision and directives of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), 100 medical students of Al-Razi Medical College were adjusted in six different medical colleges.
The students were asked to report to the medical colleges of the province. As per the distribution formula for adjustment of the students, the KMU adjusted 17 male and female students each in four medical colleges including Kabir Medical College Peshawar, Peshawar Medical College on the Warsak Road, Pak International Medical College Peshawar and 16 each in the Jinnah Medical College Peshawar and Frontier Medical College Abbottabad. It was stated in the statement that the PHC had issued directives to the KMU to adjust the Al-Razi Medical College students in other medical colleges of the province.
It said the KMU as per the PHC decision had sent the names of the students for adjustment in the different colleges for approval of the PMDC and issued the notification of the adjustment of the students after the PMDC approval. The KMU stated that there were some legal impediments to direct adjustments of the students in various medical colleges and the PMDC approval was required.
