PESHAWAR: A large number of students and faculty members thronged the main lawn of Sheikh Taimur Academic Block of the University of Peshawar (UoP) where a three-day book fair kicked off on Tuesday.
UoP Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan inaugurated the book fair. Books ranging from literature, social sciences to natural sciences were put on sale at a discount up to 55 percent. “Book reading is the key to succeed in the society and is a great source of knowledge through which students can exhibit progressive social and professional skills,” Dr Rasul Jan said on the occasion.
The vice-chancellor said reading paved the way for a comprehensive learning process. He urged the students to benefit from the variety of books being sold at reasonable price to develop the reading habit.
