PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Economic Affairs and Chairman Investment Promotion Cell Rafaqatullah Babar held meetings with Chinese hydel power investment company Zhongnan Engineering Corporation and mineral investment company Tuny-Pak Minerals who while expressing interest in investment in hydel power and mineral sectors of the province made request for issuance of NoC in this regard.
Rafaqatullah Babar while appreciating the offer termed it welcoming gesture that the interest of investment in KP of our neighbouring friendly country Peoples’ Republic of China is increasing.
He said that till now Chinese companies had started investment of billions of dollars in different sectors and areas of this province.
He assured Zhongnan Engineering Corporation for issuance of NoC for establishment of hydel power station in Shoghore area of Chitral and said that company could start work from next week.
He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is rich in natural resources and has huge potentials in hydel power and mineral sectors and issuance of licenses has been started to different national and international companies for exploiting them.
The electricity to be produced from the power station to be completed in next one and half year will be provided to local industrial units on subsidized rates.
He said that under One-Window Operation of the KP govt, the Investment Promotion Cell will provide all necessary facilities with immediate effect to all domestic and foreign companies under.
He said that for future power projects the company will be issued 30 years operational license and the tariff will be fixed according to the policy evolved by the KP government.
The CEO of Tuny-Pak Minerals and engineers told that they will also assist the local population of northern districts in utilization of the mineral resources and besides provision of employment and best training opportunities, the socio-economic conditions of the locals will also be improved.
