Court annoyed at minister’s no-show in YouTube ban case, Minister for Information Technology

LAHORE Expressing annoyance at non-appearance of the Minister for Information Technology in YouTube ban case, the Lahore High Court directed him to file the same by putting her signatures instead of the secretary’s.


As the hearing started, IT secretary Akhlaq Ahmed Tarar appeared before the court instead of the minister and filed a reply. The court placed it on record but made it clear that it could not be consider a policy statement because after the 18th Constitutional amendment, only ministers were competent to give a policy statement.
