MARDAN: The Three-day course on basic medical first aid and Fire fighting organized by Rescue 1122 Mardan for students of faculty of health and physical education of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) concluded on Friday. The officials of Rescue1122 said that in the three day-training course, the students, including boys and girls, were trained on basic life support, cardio pulmonary resuscitation, management of injury and fractures and other severe emergencies. They said that students of AWKUM showed great interest in training of rescue-1122 and did mock exercises. On the third and last day of the training the concluding ceremony was held which was presided by Dr Jehanzaib Khalil and chief guest District Emergency officer Dr Haris Habib. Certificates were distributed among participants of the training-course. Later, Dr Haris Habib while addressing the participants, highlighted the importance of rescue 1122 services in situations of disaster across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and assured the students that they would soon sign an MOU with AWKUM regarding providing basic first aid and fire fighting training to all students and staff of the university.
