KARACHI (NNI): Veteran leader of Kashmir’s All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, on Thursday condemned Indian move to book Kashmiri youths for treason for their jubilation over Pakistan’s victory in Pak-India cricket match in Asia Cup in Bangladesh.
“India is a big country, a home to one billion people but with a very small heart, Kashmiri people have been enchained in Indian imperialism, we are facing this situation of atrocity here every day,” said Syed Ali Gilani while talking to media.
On Sunday, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University in Meerut, Uttar Pardesh suspended 67 students of the Kashmiri origin – their crime was that they supported Pakistani cricket team in Asia Cup match against India.
“Hundreds of thousands of people, including women, children and old men celebrated Pakistan’s victory against India in Jammu and Kashmir valley, which angered India that it expelled Kashmiri youths from their university. The people of Kashmir are living under Indian forced occupation, you must realize now how we are spending our days and nights but we are optimistic that we will win the freedom one day,” he said.
He said that Pakistan has vowed to support the expelled Kashmiri youths, but despite the fact India will not issue visa to them for Pakistan. “Pakistan should continue its efforts for the people of Kashmir who are battling Indian bigotry and New Delhi’s anti-Pakistan madness.
