Govt warned against meddling in affairs of Edwardes College Peshawar Diocese of Peshawar Church of Pakistan

PESHAWAR: The representatives of Diocese of Peshawar Church of Pakistan have threatened to move court against the provincial government’s plan to appoint principal of Edwardes College Peshawar.


Addressing a press conference here on Monday, MPA Fredrick Azeem Ghouri, a lawmaker of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, asked the government to cancel the advertisement flouted for appointment of principal of Edwardes College Peshawar.


The advertisement was aimed at taking control of the college from Diocese of Peshawar Church of Pakistan (DPCP), he said. He added that the college was an autonomous educational institution of Christians under Article 20 and 60 of the Constitution.
