Inter-provincial transfer of prisons soon: Manzoor Sindh Minister for Prisons, Anti-Corruption, Mines & Mineral Manzoor Hussain Wassan

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Prisons, Anti-Corruption, Mines & Mineral Manzoor Hussain Wassan has said that Inter Provincial transfer of Prisons would be started very soon. It has been decided to hold an important meeting of all Provincial Prison Ministers including Azad Kashmir for further strengthening security of prisons, Interior Secretary and Home secretaries of provinces would also be requested to attend the meeting.

This he said while holding meeting with I.G. prisons of four Provinces including Azad Kashmir who called on him at his residence today. I.G. Prisons Punjab Mian Farooq Nazeer, I.G. Prison, Balochistan Muhammad Ayub Qureshi, I..G. Prison Azad Kashmir Abdul Hameed Mughal, I.G. Prison Sindh Nusrat Mangan, Additional Secretaries Home, Criminal Justice Advisor of UNO Mr. Connie Brown, Special Secretary Prison Sindh Muhammad Nawaz Shaikh, and others also attended the meeting. Related issues of Prisons were discussed in detail during the meeting. Manzoor Wassan further said that there were security threats to Sindh Prisons particularly Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur Central Prisons; Jamers have already been installed at Karachi Central Prison and same are being installed in Hyderabad and Sukkur very soon.
Minister Prison Wassan was confident that all out efforts were being made to provide required facilities to prisons including medicines and food, according to Jail manuals.
