PESHAWAR: A Jirga comprising of top leadership from all tribes of North Waziristanhas demanded of the government to start work on the proposed FATA Medical College (FMC) and threatened if the college was shifted to other place, they would launch a protest movement. This they said during their visit of The Frontier Post main office in Peshawar on Wednesday.
The jirga headed by Pir Aqal Shah ex candidate for NA-40 with Malik Ghulam Khan, Shamsur Rehman Dawar, Malik Gul Faraz Khan Wazir Kabul Khel, Malik Shaukat Khan, Malik Numran Khan and Muhammad Qaiser Khan said while talking to The Frontier Post that the proposed FMC was approved by all of the departments in FATA Secretariat after several meetings and was agreed upon that the best choice for the college was none other than North Waziristan.
“NWA lies in the center of FATA as it is close to Kurram Agency, South Waziristan, Orakzai and all the Frontier Regions of the southern Fata” Pir said adding that every thing was streamlined in early 2008.
He added that after the feasibility reports and the approval of FATA secretariat, Tappi Tribe of NWA donated a piece of 500 Kanals land free of cost for the welfare and benefit of the FATA people.
Malik Shmasur Rehman added that the work over the college was almost to be launched but they disturbed the whole of the situation good for nothing.
“We cannot allow anybody to snatch our rights in any form and we will fight for it up to the last drop of our blood,” Shmas claimed.
Another participant of the Jirga Ghulam Khan said all the people of North Waziristan were ready to come to the roads if the work was delayed anymore.
Malik Gul Faraz said they will start agitation in North Waziristan, Peshawar and even in Islamabad in front of President house if our right was not given to us.
They also criticized Governor KP Engineer Shaukatullah saying that he was the governor of Fata but was not impartial.
