Punjab Govt. spending Rs384m on education schemes District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sialkot

SIALKOT (PPI): The Punjab government is spending Rs. 384 million on different education sector developmental schemes for establishing the science and informational technology laboratories, additional classrooms and provision of all the missing basic facilities including potable drinking water, electricity, furniture, toilets and boundary walls in government schools and their up-gradation in Sialkot district. . District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sialkot Iftikhar Ali Sahi stated this while addressing an important meeting held at the Committee Room to review the pace of ongoing education sector development schemes in Sialkot districts the four Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils here. EDO (Finance) Sialkot Nadeem Sarwar, EDO (Education) Sialkot Riaz Ahmed Sohi, District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Aamir Raza, DOC Sialkot Malik Abid Hussain Awan and local senior officials of Education, Buildings and Planning Departments also attended the meeting.
DCO directed the officials of the Buildings Department to jazz up the pace of construction of the under completion development schemes of education sector, ensure the use of quality material, besides, ensuring the time completion of these scheme.DCO told the meeting that district government of Sialkot has promoted as many as 2218 different cadres teachers (including 937 female teachers) to their next grades with immediate effect.
On this occasion, EDO (Finance) Sialkot Nadeem Sarwar told the meeting that the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has released a special grant of Rs. 29m for ensuring the early provision of electricity to as many as 75 government girls schools in Sialkot district, saying that another grant of Rs.16.8 million was also expected to be released soon by the Punjab Government to Sialkot district for the early provision of potable drinking water, establishment of boundary walls and toilets in 83 government girls schools in the district.

He disclosed that the district government of Sialkot was already spending special funds of Rs.20 million on constructing the boundary walls in 50 other government girls schools in district.
EDO (Education) Sialkot Riaz Ahmed Sohi told the meeting that Rs. 18.7 million were being spent on establishing the IT Labs in 17 recently upgraded government high schools in district here, besides, spending Rs. 17.1 million on establishing the well-equipped Science Laboratories in 19 other government high schools here.
He said that the provincial government has also released a special grant of Rs. 35 million for upgrading five other government girls elementary schools in Sialkot district. District Government was spending Rs.22 million on the construction of additional classrooms in five different government schools here, besides, spending Rs. 8 million for establishing IT Labs in 16 different government girls elementary schools here, he added.
