The building of Government Primary School at Basti Kumharan near Rahim Yar Khan is in very dilapidated condition and feared to collapse at any moment thus the lives of hundreds of students are in danger.
The students are scared of even sitting in the classrooms. More than 400 students are being educated in the school where they are forced to sit under the open sky during the study process.
Its windows and doors are also in very bad shape, cracks have appeared in the walls. Administration said that they have informed the higher authorities several time about the building’s situation but no one has taken action in this regard. Teachers Muhammad Farhan Azam, Muhammd Tehseen and others including the parents of the students demanded reconstruct of a new building for the school.
DACOITY: Eight armed dacoits robbed two trailers on National Highway and shot at and burst the tyres and beat up driver and helper. Near Ada Tahirwali, Chani Goth at Bobra Bridge, eight armed men placed the hurdles on the road and stopped two trailers coming from Karachi and were supposed to deliver goods to Islamabad.
They robbed drivers Bilal and Tassaduq and helper Sohail, residents of Atak of thousands of rupees cash, cell phones and other goods loaded in the trailers. Meanwhile, the drivers put up resistance whereupon, the dacoits started firing and burst the tyres. Injured driver and his helper were taken to the Rural Health Centre Chani Goth where their condition is out of danger while Police Station Channi Goht reached the spot on being informed and gathered evidence.
