Islamabad A weeklong Islamic festival is underway in Al-Kausar University H-8 Islamabad, which is participated by people from cross section of society from all over the country, says a press release.
The festival named “Naseem-e-Karbala” is featuring a number of activities to highlight Islamic culture. The festival is sponsored by Mausoleum of Imam Hussain (AS) in collaboration with a private television channel and Al Kausar University management.
The main objective of the festival is to promote Islamic culture among the Muslims and save them from the negative impacts of the alien cultures.
It is aimed at providing knowledge as well as healthy entertainment to the people.
During the festival, competitions are being organized in Qirat-e-Quran, Hifz-e-Quran, Naat and Manqabat reciting, essay writing and photography.
Quiz competitions are also being held in which participants are asked questions about Islamic history, culture as well as Islamic general knowledge.
The winners of the competition would be given prizes at the end of the festival. The prizes include air ticket for pilgrimage of Karbala and other holy sites.
Exhibition of Islamic calligraphy and paintings is also being held.
The festival has also a children corner in which educative entertainment id being provided to kids to create awareness among them about the teachings of Islam.
A delegation of khuddam of mausoleum of Imam Hussain (AS) led by deputy muttawali (custodian) of the holy shrine is also participating in the festival.
The festival, which will last till March 9, is being participated by children, women, and people of all ages.
