Doctors end protest, resume work at CMCH Chandka Medical College and its affiliate institutions

LARKANA: Normality returned to the Chandka Medical College and its affiliate institutions after three days of protest by doctors in the wake of successful talks between district administration and the Pakistan Medical Association on Friday.

The protesting doctors, who were later joined by the Chandka Teachers Association and other trade bodies, had been protesting against police failure to arrest the culprit involved in a murderous attack on Dr Partab Rai, senior registrar at the CMC Children Hospital on Monday.

Doctors stayed away from duties in hospitals and medical colleges during the protest, which caused great inconvenience to patients.

The PMA has agreed to give three days to police to track down and arrest Dr Partab’s attackers after talks with deputy commissioner and SSP late on Thursday night.
