government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa releases 100m for first phase of Swat University

MINGORA: Vice Chancellor University of Swat on Thursday announced that government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released Rs100million for the first phase of construction of University of Swat. 
He was addressing students and faculty at main Odigram Campus of University of Swat.
He said that the provincial government has already released Rs100 million out of Rs1500 million approved funds. Prof Jahanzeb further said that construction work of first phase is expected to start by June, 2014.

He added that in the first phase access road entrance gate, and boundary wall would be constructed first. While after release of the remaining amount by the government construction work on other parts of the project would be started.
Addressing the gathering he also mentioned that as part of faculty development program, 20 faculty members would get scholarships to pursue their PhD this year while 30 more would be awarded next year.
Vice Chancellor announced that the university has already purchased 4 new buses and are expected to reach soon.
He said that after the induction of new buses the transport problem will be resolved.
Vice Chancellor Jahanzeb congratulated the faculty members who have recently joined the university. Highlighting university\’s progress, he expressed that the university has already signed MOUs with several foreign universities aimed at extending cooperation in different fields. Vice Chancellor urged student\’s societies to arrange healthy activities on the campus.
