Primary schools to remain closed in Peshawar today Over 6,000 policemen and Frontier Constabulary personnel

PESHAWAR: Over 6,000 policemen and Frontier Constabulary personnel will be deployed in parts of the provincial metropolis today (Saturday) to ensure security to the teams of Sehat Ka Insaf.

Peshawar Deputy Commissioner Zaheerul Islam told Pakedu that the teams would spread in the entire Peshawar district. He said that 4,083 teams of vaccinators would be in the field to reach each and every locality and access the children.

He said that 2,945 health workers, 3,083 teachers and 691 volunteers of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf would take part in the campaign.

The DC said that use of motorcycle would be banned while all primary schools would remain closed for one day (Saturday),

saying that parents and teachers should note it to avoid inconvenience.

About the violations by private schools, he said that no one was above the law and the citizens should extend cooperation to make the campaign against fatal diseases a success and secure future of the new generation.

He said that duties had already been assigned to the officials to monitor the work of vaccinators’ teams so that all the 93 union councils in the Peshawar district could be covered.
